Juicing or Smoothies – The Health Benefits

There are many benefits to juicing your fruits and vegetables, and running them through a blender as well to get your daily smoothie fix. So, what’s your vice? Juicing or smoothies? Or is it a matter of preference?

Juicing – Why Bother?

Juicing is an excellent way to efficiently and quickly get your required fruits and vegetables each day. Besides the fact that these juices are delicious, the nutrients are instantly delivered and absorbed with maximum efficiency. The chances of you getting the same vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients through a multivitamin are about as equal as finding a vegan at a country style cook off.

The only thing juicing doesn’t deliver is fiber which is removed in the form of pulp in the juicing process. However, if you are juicing chances are you are also eating fruits, vegetables, and other high fiber foods so it’s normally not an issue. There’s plenty of ways to get fiber – pick one.

There’s not a lot of easy ways to get 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in 5 minutes and a 10 oz. glass – but juicing delivers that in spades.

Smoothies – What’s the Benefit?

Blending whole fruits and mixing in super foods and green formula’s is an awesome way to get a wide spectrum of nutrients in a single glass. In fact, if you mix them right, smoothies are one of the most delicious ways to get a level of nutrition not known by 90% of people.

I probably get more nutrition in a single smoothie than most people get in a week.

Smoothies are a great way to start your day and also contain the fiber that is missing from your daily juicing regimen. Normally, protein powders are also added which adds another dimension as well that most juices don’t incorporate.

So instead of hitting your coffee first thing (unless it’s a healthier coffee, of course), why not enjoy a smoothie first and really get your day started right by knocking off 5 of your fruits and vegetables off the list in the first meal of the day!

You Win Either Way

Really, if you’re juicing or doing smoothies, your health is winning either way. Both offer power packed nutrition that’s more easily digested and absorbed, and the different flavors and combinations you can come up with actually becomes quite fun.
