Style is a very personal thing. The way you dress and look is extremely important, it affects you and your life in many different ways. It is important to be aware of this and to consider this when deciding on your look and style. You need not, and should not let it dictate how you dress completely, but it is something you ought to at least think about.
Make a Good Impression
Perhaps the most obvious is how your look affects how other people perceive you. We are all aware of this, to some extent. If we are going for a job interview, we will dress differently than if we were going out for a night with the girls.
Even as children we are conscious of the way we look. Most kids want to wear the same clothes as their peers, so they fit in. As they get older, they develop their own sense of style and begin to want to stand out a little more.
The way we look tells others, to some extent, where we sit in society. It tells people a little about who we are and what kind of personality we have. A person who dresses in sombre clothes is often seen by society as serious and unexciting. When choosing your wardrobe take the time to consider the image you want to project and choose your clothes accordingly.
Be Comfortable With Your Look
It is important however not to carry things too far and end up dressing purely to please others. Above all else, look for clothes you feel comfortable in and that suit your body type. There is nothing worse than following a fashion trend in an effort to fit in only to catch a look at yourself in the mirror whilst out, and realise you look awful. Above all else you have to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. There is plenty of ladies stylish clothing to choose from, so you can always find something to wear that looks good on you. For most women the best approach is to pick out elements of the current fashion trends they like rather than changing their style of dress completely every few months.
